Project Overview

Syncv2 is both a personal brand site and a small suite of tools built and shipped under it — including a Finance Tracker for monitoring personal income and expenses, and a Server Dashboard for managing and monitoring server infrastructure. The site itself started as a static Webflow export with no way to add or update content without editing raw HTML. The goal was to turn it into a fully dynamic platform: a real Node.js and Express backend with a SQLite database, so projects like the Finance Tracker and Server Dashboard — along with updates and portfolio work — could be added, edited, and removed directly from an admin panel, no code editor required.

The Challenge SWOT Breakdown

Strengths

A clear existing design and content structure already in place from the original static site.

Weaknesses

No backend, no database, and no way to update content without directly editing HTML.

Any backend change risked breaking the existing design or losing existing content.

Our Approach

Backend Foundation

A Node.js and Express server was built to serve both the existing static marketing pages and new dynamic, database-driven pages side by side.

Database & Content Modeling

A SQLite database was set up to store projects, updates, and portfolio entries, replacing hardcoded HTML with structured, editable records.

Admin Panel Build

A private, login-protected admin panel was built with forms to create, edit, and delete content — including image uploads — without touching code.

Migration Without Breaking Design

Existing pages, including the Finance Tracker and Server Dashboard project pages, were converted into templates using the same CSS and markup as the original site, so the visual design carried over exactly.

The Outcome
